Winter Park, FL – James C. Lucia, FAIBD, was presented a Grand Aurora at the Southeast Builders Conference Aurora Awards in Orlando, Florida, August 5, 2006. Jim received the Grand award for his winning design created during the Concept Awards, a live design competition held on the exhibit floor. Contestants follow a fictitious program and design a home with builders conference attendee interaction. Judges were Mark Johnson, FAIA; Whirlpool Corp.; Lyle Breeze, AIBD; Breeze and Associates; J. Frederick Spencer, AIBD; Spencer Design Group; and Troy Beasley and Stephanie Henley, Beasley and Henley Interior Design. Sponsored by the Whirlpool Corporation and Andersen Windows and Doors, the Concept Awards program was created by Steven Mickley, AIBD, Executive Director, American Institute of Building Design.
