Winter Park, FL – Lucia, Kassik & Monday, Inc. today announced the completion of construction on a new home design project for a past client. Jim Lucia designed a residential addition for a modest home near Lake Maitland that was built by Mike Kamenoff, of Kamenoff-Hughes Custom Homes, LLC, in 1993. In 2001, the same client purchased another home, this time on Lake Maitland, and returned to Lucia, Kassik & Monday, Inc. to discuss remodeling the newly purchased, pre-owned, lakefront home. After a lengthy feasibility study with the residential designer, The Krinkers decided to demolish the purchased house and build a brand new home. The lot is located on Lake Maitland, within a mile of the 1993 remodeled home. The new two-story lakefront home is a 6,400 square foot Mediterranean-style. The client’s family had grown through the years and needed four bedrooms and five and one-half bathrooms. The new kitchen features an open-air floor plan with contemporary stainless steel appliances surrounding an island with seating. An office nook is incorporated in the corner of the kitchen to create a family communication hub. Stunning features include a radius stairwell with a wine cellar tucked underneath the staircase, a second story gallery overlooking the formal dining room, colonnade repeating arches and columns, and three exterior cantilevered balconettes (two overlook the pool and lake). A second story home office overlooks the lake through double French doors and a screened porch. The home boasts a guest wing with its own private garage, in addition to the family two-car garage, and a spacious game room showcasing beautiful wood grain custom cabinetry. The custom cabinetry, wood detailing and stone floors flow throughout the home along with detailed wrought iron railings, exposed decorative wood beams, and two laundry rooms - one on each floor.
